WORTHY TO BE GREAT B.E.C.S.™ Program

According to a Cengage/Morning Consult survey, 75% of employers report difficulty finding college graduates with the soft skills they need. Nobel Prize-winning economist James Heckman also stated, “We now have very hard evidence that you have to have soft skills in order to succeed. There’s evidence that soft skills can be learned and mastered. Programs that enhance soft skills have an important place.”

This is where Gene Mosley’s B.E.C.S.™ Program comes in. B.E.C.S. stands for Brand, Experience, and Communication Skills, and it stems from Gene’s own struggles as a college graduate. In this program, Gene shares valuable insights on how to prepare for the transition from being a college student to entering the professional world.

As a former student, college graduate, and recovered laid-off employee, Gene knows firsthand the stress and frustration of lacking essential skills after graduation. Despite holding a Master’s Degree, he found himself working 44 temporary jobs—including cleaning, handing out food samples, and sweeping floors—after being laid off from a low-paying position. His experiences shaped the development of his B.E.C.S., which ultimately allowed him to succeed. Now, with a thriving career in the wellness industry, Gene is an 8-time author, professional speaker, communications coach, certified behavior change specialist, and CEO of inGENEious Motivation, LLC. He is dedicated to helping others avoid the mistakes he made and empowering them to develop their B.E.C.S., essential skills for both entering and excelling in their careers.

The B.E.C.S. program is a career preparation blueprint that Gene wishes he had access to during his college years. It challenges students to proactively prepare for their career success before graduation. Participants will learn:

Brand Development:

  • Understanding personal brand awareness
  • Professional representation online and in person
  • Importance of resume and cover letter presentation
  • Presenting oneself as an asset to a company or organization through storytelling

Experience Building:

  • Leveraging on-campus resources for professional experience
  • Identifying opportunities to gain practical skills in their field of study

Communication Skill Development:

  • Enhancing written and verbal communication skills
  • Developing soft skills: problem-solving, adaptability, leadership, time management
  • Using storytelling in resumes to persuade during job interviews

The B.E.C.S. program is designed to help college students avoid the stress and frustration that Gene and many other graduates experienced due to a lack of experience and soft skills.
